Residential Shingle Roofing in South Florida
Shingle roofing can uniquely blend a long-lasting roofing solution with a look that can improve the value of your home. In Florida, homeowners have a wide selection of single roofing materials, but most generally fall into one of three categories:
3-Tab Shingles
As the most cost-effective shingles, this material is generally the thinnest of shingles and most susceptible to uplift. Their benefit lies in the cost, which can be substantially lower than other premium shingles. These products are usually warranted for up to 20 years.
Dimensional or Architectural Shingles
This shingle is a thicker premium shingle shaped similarly to 3-tabs with warranties of up to 40 or 50 years. Dimensional shingles cost more than 3-tabs, however, one can expect a longer product life and better resistance to wind.
Designer Shingles
Designer shingles have the best uplift and thickness of the three shingle types. While they are installed in a similar way to regular shingles, they have the appearance of flat tile or slate roofing. With up to a limited lifetime warranty, these shingles are designed to withstand winds up to 130 mph.
