Stucco Leak Repair
When we think of water intrusion, our first thought is of penetration in the roofing system and while that is most often the reason for water damage inside the house stucco can certainly be a factor. Because the exterior of many buildings in South Florida can be covered in stucco, it is a feature that cannot be overlooked. Stucco is a durable and aesthetically pleasing material that creates a barrier to the elements and keeps the interior of the home or commercial building from the ravages of water and mold. However, stucco is not impenetrable and many times improper installation or simple shifting of the foundation can cause cracks in the stucco envelope which can allow moisture to penetrate the walls. Once this begins to happen mold will grow and the interior of the building will start to rot all the while letting more water in.
Stucco leaks are common but can be hard to detect. Specialized equipment, which Garabar uses on a regular basis, can be employed to detect the source of the water intrusion. If it is then determined that it is indeed a stucco leak Garabar has the knowledge and experience to remove the offending stucco, repair, all mold and rot inside the walls replace the stucco, and match it to the existing finish of the building. We will then repaint the area to match the rest of the property.
